DELTA employee receives DTT terminology certificate
Over the past twelve months, DELTA employees have taken numerous opportunities to expand their terminology-related skill sets.
Terminology is of course always a hot topic with translation service providers. But there is a big difference between creating simple glossaries to ensure consistency and quality and a company-wide terminology management system that should ideally already be established and updated when drafting new documents or introducing new products. This work goes far beyond the remit of a translator and requires a comprehensive view of the entire documentation and translation process.
Many companies are unaware of the potential that establishing a terminology management system – a process that admittedly initially requires some effort – can hold. It is not immediately clear whether and when such a system will provide a ROI and what the benefits are. Vision and experience are needed. It then however becomes apparent that larger companies can no longer remain competitive without professional terminology management. The German terminology council Deutscher Terminologie-Tag e.V. has certified that DELTA is a competent terminology management partner: in July 2016, our language engineer Andreas Merten was awarded the DTT terminology certificate.
